Powershift help needed

Featured Replies

Hi guy's, wondering if you guys can help shed some light on a powershift issue.

Purchased the car and it had already had a gearbox refurb by the dealer.

2 weeks into happy motoring we got the yellow limited function warning.

Went to garage and they had it for 5 weeks and had completely changed every component and all is well.

Collected and the very next morning the red transmission malfunction, clear the warning and all is fine ti the next morning.

Oil level is correct etc, so I'm told.

We replaced the battery but no change.

After clearing the codes (carscanner app) it runs like a dream and does everything as it should when it should

Is something being missed?

TIA

Damaged and/or corroded wiring would be the most probable cause. You need to open up the back shells of the connectors and check inside for broken wires and corroded pins. Start at the gearbox and work back towards the PCM.

Apparently all the wiring had a good going over, it seems they really struggled with this and it ended up the full works.

I was thinking about a PCM reset, disconnecting earth and jumper to the the live, but I assume a pcm reset would've been done

Probably needs a full reset, clutch and shift learning, using FORScan

Hi mate

Use forscan and navigate to service procedures, run the 'Reset TCM Module' see if that helps.

If not I am in the process of building a group dedicated to the powershift 6dct450 and I am actively working with people to fix these boxes once and for all.
