Help needed. 2017 Ford Focus Diesel battery replace issue

Hi all. Changed the battery in my Focus but had hell of a job getting air filter box out. Something came off and I can't see where it goes to.

I have some pics of said item.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What engine is it? I replaced battery in 2015 2.0 tdci and didn't see anything like that. Air box co.es off very easy on 2.0 tdci.

    Ah, didn't realise Gore were into car parts as well. It figures though - breathable fabric, gearbox breather.
