After sales support

Featured Replies

Ford's after sales support (at least this period - it isn't referred to other periods) is definitely not good.

Sent an email about 1.0 wetbelt issue to all ford officials and dealers-workshops in Europe, noone replied.

They seem not to care of important issues like the 1.0's (and mk4's cylinder-piston issue) and 1.5's. At least to offer a special discount about it.

Sync 3 although it is supposed to be upgraded and updated for long time, ford stopped to make upgrades-updates.

They still keep prices very very expensive for new cars, for service maintenance and other things.

With respect, they're all aware of the issue. What did you expect? An apology? Ain't gonna happen, that would automatically leave them legally wide open...

They're a public company responsible to their shareholders, not a charity. Their aim is to make as much money as they possibly can. Not to offer 'special' discounts to customers...

I've been in business for 40+ years, there's a line from offering customer service, and making a profit. Often customers expectations simply don't match the company they are dealing with - if that's the case, move on.

Yes but still it could be definitely be better the after sales service.

They manufactured problematic models, customers paid a fortune to buy them, mostly ford dealers/salers didn't inform them about the wetbelt and how to properly service it (including oil etcetera).

To be honest the SYNC 3 system has been supported for a longer period than all of its predecessors.

* The 2nd generation Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system was introduced in 2008 and support stopped 4 Years later in 2012.
* The SYNC 1.0 system was introduced in 2012 and support stopped 2 Years later in 2014.
* The SYNC 1.1 system was introduced in 2014 and support stopped 4 Years later in 2018.
* The SYNC 2 system was introduced in 2014 and support stopped 4 Years later in 2018.

*The SYNC 3 system was introduced in 2016 and support stopped 7 Years later in 2023.

The fact that Ford stopped developing system updates does not mean that the development of map updates will also be stopped. History showed that maps of most Ford Satnav systems are updated once a Year during a period of approximately 10 Years (although Ford only promised 5 Years of free map updates during the introduction of SYNC 3). The latest (F12) SYNC 3 map update was released by Ford in August 2023.

Yes but F12 was not available for Sync 3.3.
