Rear inside wheel lift on tight turn

Featured Replies

Hi. I’ve recently become the owner of a 2020 mk4 Focus Titanium and to coincide with this parking woes have got worse on my street to the point where I have to turn onto my sloping drive with a full lock. I’ve noticed that when I do this, at very low speed, there is a slight creak and the inside rear  wheel lifts a few inches off the ground. I understand this will be due to the torsion beam suspension on the car. My question is, is this safe or could it cause damage or premature wear? Many thanks.

the creak is likely the old ARB bushes moving on the arm (anti-roll bars rotating and the old hard, shrunk bushes not squidging like they once did, meaning the bush stays still and makes a noise instead) - lots of manu now bond bushes to reduce the noise problem...  but as they age that glue is not working

also likely the ARB is why the wheel is lifting, that's what they designed them to do - ARBs resist the car leaning in bends, by forcing the other wheel to squat too
