brake upgrade

hi all, im new on here and was just wondering if anyone had upgraded the size of there front brakes.

i have a mk4  1.5 ecoblue st line x which i think is on 271mm discs, 

any advice would be good

    Why do you want to upgrade the brakes, have you significantly increased the engine power?

    He wants to significantly reduce the cars acceleration by adding extra weight just for fun 🤣

    No just don't think they are very good and bigger brakes would look better

    IMHO best to invest those money in good quality brake discs, pads and tyres. You can paint callipers if you want. 

    I'm not sure but original hubs might not take bigger callipers, so might need a new hubs as well.

    Think the last time a post like this came up it was agreed either going with updated pads or ST spec calipers and discs were the better options for bolt-on upgrades. 
     

    Even then the ST parts route could push to needing larger diameter wheels than currently fitted
