Audio connected by phone keeps cutting out after 60 seconds

Featured Replies

I have a Focus mk3 2011 which worked fine connected to my phone playing music when I had an iPhone 13.

Using a usb a and aux cable joined to a lighting cable, this provided a very reliable and consistent connection.

i upgraded my phone to the iPhone 15 which utilises a usb c port so I thought I’d get the equivalent cable - usb a and aux to usb c.

After a little bit of time, the audio just cuts out.  Thought it must be a faulty cable so I replaced it with another one, more expensive.

That had the same outcome.

I timed it.  Pretty much bang on 60 seconds it cuts out.

So now I’m left thinking that it must be the car.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

A friend of mine thinks it could be a faulty Bluetooth module.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Why would it be the car when it coincides with you changing the phone? If you’re using the analog connection it’s very simple maybe the phone stops outputting after 60s.

If you were using Bluetooth you wouldn’t need the. 3.5mm connection.

Did you try to connect through Bluetooth?

Just try using the original Apple cable but with a USB-C to A adapter

I need to factor in the aux otherwise audio cannot be played through the car’s speakers

I’ve had issues with playing music over Bluetooth, hence my reliance on the 3.5mm connection

I will add that I connected my friend’s Samsung phone via 3.5mm aux cable, and the same issue happens.

So the issue cannot be with my phone
