Mk3.5 headlight downgrade

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm replacing the front end on my 2017 titanium x.

I purchased 2 replacement headlights as the original ones were smashed to pieces however I have just realised it original had bi-xenon lights and I have bought standard halogen style ones (but with a black casing). I have plugged them in and they seem to work- will this cause me any problem such as bulbs blowing, not leveling etc etc

I know the bi-xenon are meant to be the upgraded lights but to be honest I prefer the dark casing of the replacements I have

Thanks

You won't prefer the candle like performance.

You may need to change the headlamp switch for a manual levelling one and re-configure, using FORScan or you will get faults

Generally, ST Xenons come with a dark bezel.  TX Xenons come with a chrome bezel.

I'd be interested to know if the halogens do the levelling sweep at startup?  If not, you will need to fit a levelling switch for MOT.
