Remote Key Fob not working

Featured Replies

I have replaced battery so definitely not that.

Can open door with key blade and start the engine holding the fob next to the steering wheel.

No key entry point on steering wheel so cannot reset that way

Any ideas?

Are you sure, do you fancy a little flutter ? 🤔

Measure your new battery with a multimeter, is the voltage 3.30V ?

I have the same problem, remote do not lock/unlock doors. Tested remote and is sending a signal. Removed and checked bcm(glovebox) no water traces or burnt components. No fault codes.
Owner said about same time radio stopped working ( travelpilot fx ), thought the faults are related but they are not. Radio had faulty RAM chips, managed to repair using computer ddr400 1gb stick, that had same chips.
If i cannot get it fixed i bought universal remote kit. I do not like it but better than removing blade from key and inserting in the door. Car has key-less go, has a start button.
Sometimes there is a fault on cluster u1900, have removed and resoldered the brain IC and some resistors. Tomorrow will se if anything has changed.

What would be nice to see changed is your profile. Details of a VW 1991 is not very useful on a Ford forum if you're looking for advice 🤔

It is my cousins car, 2010 mk2 focus estate, 2.0l diesel, has only keyless start, without keyless entry.
After repairing audio unit, measured battery drain using 14v power supply with ammeter. Locked the car using blade, all doors closed, after 20-30minutes everything went to sleep ammeter showing almost 0.0 amps, when i pressed any button on remote amps went up to 0.25 and drop to 0 after few minutes.
Seems like the remote is sending a signal, the car receives that signal but does nothing, i am thinking the remote is not recognized, but how do i learn the remote for central locks only?
Local tuning guy said he needs to learn at least 2 remotes to start the car and then remote door locks should work also, but he did not seem convinced.
