OK, I admit it, I'm a massive pickle fan. Even as a child I would happily rather eat a pickled cucumber that a lollipop! I even sometimes now make my own. I had my 1st BigMac in the late 70s in America, and have been a fan ever since. Not over indulging but getting one every month or so.

My local McD has no issue whatsoever in my request for extra pickle. However, I was just in another McD and noticed after my request, the cashier added 10p to my bill. I queried it and asked if I'd have requested 'no' pickle, would I have got a 10p refund? (I know plenty of people delete this little delicacy).

Turns out there is no 'central' instruction for 'extra' request, but is up to each individual franchisee. I'll not be back to that McD, not that that'll worry them with the amount I eat, but still, it's very irritating. SubWay have never charged me for extra pickle, and I've eaten them worldwide - I like their policy! 😀
