My car went into limp mode with the COG symbol illuminated in red and when I turn off the ignition it sometimes goes off and runs fine , but other times at low revs it just cuts outs especially going into corners which is scarey. When it,s running properly this car runs like Hell ! and not much can keep up with it   What I don,t understand is when it,s in Limp mode it’s runs ok but with less power  Rob Smurthwaite

    From the year of your car it could be the instrument cluster cracked solder joint problem.

    And if it's not the cluster, then you could try a new fuel filter.

    Ultimately there are too many possibilities just to start randomly replacing parts though.  Having the fault codes read by Ford specific diagnostics is the best way forward.  We recommend Forscan on here as a cheap DIY alternative to a main dealership.
