Steering rack mark 3 ford focus 1l ecoboost 2014

Hi 

I have a 2014 mark 3 ford focus ecoboost and the steering rack has failed I was told all ford focus mark 3 steering racks are the same ? Mine has 18inch wheels does this make a difference as I'm being told 2 different opinions ! 🤔

    All Mk3 racks are not the same. 

    The 1.6 Ti-VCT used a hydraulic rack, not an electric one.

    The ST rack is different to non-ST.

    Obviously LHD is different to RHD.

    Cars with 18" wheels from the factory come with rack limiters to restrict the angle of the the wheel turn-in.  These rack restrictors are very cheap and can be retrofitted to a normal rack though.

    No, sorry.  Best bet is to look on ebay or contact breakers yards.  If you've got the budget and intend to keep the car a while, then you could look at refurbished units which do cost more but should come with a warranty.
