Hi all, I'm after some advice for my mk1 2011 rev counter. 

As I drive the rev counter goes up and down for a while, then it won't return to the idle position whilst idling. It also pulses up and down very slightly while driving. The only thing I can do is to reset the dials to get it back down. However sometimes that will take several attempts.  

Is there any sensors I need to look at or is there a possibility of a dry solder joint in the cluster like the focus have? 

Any help would be greatly appreciated as its now driving me mad!!

    Could be solder, but that normally throws loads of warning lights due to the lack of comms

    I would say the motor for the tacho needle is on the way out
