Hi, I’m needing a little advice. My 21reg transit custom has a wiring loom that is run to the back right wheel (factory installed).
I purchase a tail that plugged into that loom for a trailer electrical socket. The local Ford dealer tells the the loom that was factory installed is not usable for towbars and a whole new wiring loom needs to be installed. Does that sound correct? 
 

I would be very grateful for any advice and second opinions.

     suspect your Ford dealer is talking out of the wrong part of their anatomy !! 🤔

    I'd personally recommend that you visit a different Ford dealer. I don't know if your Transit has the factory fitted tow bar wiring loom and I don't know if the Ford trailer module is already pre-installed. BUT if it is, then you most certainly should not be fitting that general purpose after market harness in the link above.

    Go to a different Ford dealer.
