One footwell light not working

Featured Replies

Hi

Hoping someone can help. I’ve just bought a 2012 Focus Titanium X. I have noticed that the drivers footwell isn’t lighting up although all of the other ambient lighting and colour changing works. I was wondering if this could be a simple fix like a bulb or something more involved?

I know before I picked the car up they fitted it with a new battery and I had to reset the automatic window closing feature because of it. Just wondering if this could have had any bearing on the footwell light? 🤔

It is still under warranty but I was hoping it might be something simple that I could fix rather than taking it back to the garage.

TIA for any suggestions 😊

There are no bulbs for ambient. It’s all LEDs. Only the light module itself can be replaced as the LEDs are SMD.

Do none of the colours work in the footwell? It’s unlikely that all three LEDs would have failed so it could be a wiring or connector problem.

But you might not know until you try replacing the footwell LED module. Have you checked it’s physically present and plugged in?

Hi alexp999, Thank you for responding

No lighting works at all in the drivers footwell, but everywhere else they work as they should.

I haven’t attempted taking anything apart just yet. I’ve only had the car a week and have driven it in the dark for the first time tonight

Just swap it for the passenger side light and see if it works.
