Anyone know why my focus radio crackles like it's out of tune when stationary but ok when I'm driving.

I've checked the aerial on roof and cleaned the screw in terminal.

Cheers

Your Focus is approaching 20 years old. It's likely that some internals in the aerial have deteriorated to the point where grabbing & holding a signal is difficult. A while back my own aerial gave me issues on a similar age car. A new one (aerial & mount)  fully sorted it...

On euro car parts site saying HT leads could cause it.

Common symptoms of faulty ignition leads include bad starting, misfiring, rough running and radio interference. Damage is usually caused by worn-out cable insulation or dirty cable connectors. Left unchecked, this damage could lead to excessive fuel consumption and MOT emissions failures.

As for age yeah it's been out in all weathers the aerial.

If you're on the original HT leads, I'd change them just out of continued maintenance before they cause errant engine stuttering.... (don't be tempted in cheap ones, go for Bosch or something similar)
