Proof of Build date of my Ford Escort

I am trying to obtain proof of the build date of my Ford Escort via the chassis number for the DVLA to change to historic tax status, the chassis number of my car shows Nov 1983 but the DVLA are going from the reg date of 04/05/1984, could anyone help with this thanks

    Well you are going to have to tell us the chassis number and/or the registration if we are to stand a chance of being able to help.

    If you know your build date from the V5, VIN/Engine number, and DVLA are not accepting it because the vehicle was registered later, then I suggest you post on a forum where most members have that age of car.  Capri Owners Club,  Granadas, Sierras, possibly XROC etc. (Other makes were available !) Those forums may well have members who have achieved Historic Vehicle Tax status with a pre '84 car.

    This forum is more to do with more modern cars with software/electronic issues, so unlikely that many members have Historic cars.

    Bonsoir, j habite en Belgique et suis sur l achat d une Ford escort mk1 RS 2000. Le vendeur affirme qu elle est une des 30 exemplaires fabriqués à Collogne. Le numéro de châssis est BFATNP70400.

    I'm sure it starts from registration date.
