Programing TCM

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, firstly thanks for admin for adding , I’m new here and I hope you can help me

I have a 2010 Ford Galaxy S-Max, Diesel 2.0, 140 PS,

 VIN: WF0MXXGBWMAA16652.

The gearbox model is AV9R7000AB.

I recently replaced the gearbox with the same original part number: AV9R7000AB. However, now the car won't crank or start.

I downloaded the As-Built file from Motorcraft Service, but it's incomplete and doesn't include the TCM data.

I updated the firmware for the TCM using Forscan, but the issue persists. I have Forscan with an Extended License.

I have attached the full scan results for both the old and new TCMs.

How can I program the TCM with Forscan, or how can I obtain a complete As-Built file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Forgetting about the TCM for the moment.

What reason does FORScan give for the 'no crank, no start' ?

If the start is being inhibited then there must be a specific DTC to say what is preventing the crank. Have you changed any other parts like the high pressure fuel pump, or the ABS module ?

Thank you. The problem is that the TCM must be programmed. When I connected the original TCM to the car, it started and the motor worked immediately.

I just need help on how to program the new TCM with Forscan or with other software.

So why do you want to change the TCM if the original works?

All you need to do is fit the original TCM and then use FORScan to put the gearbox in to the learning mode. Get the gearbox to do a full 'Drum' relearn and you should be completely sorted.

Then I think you need to find the Drum relearn option in FORScan and follow the instructions exactly. It teaches the gearbox where exactly each gear is. There is a serious amount of clucking while it's in progress. Make sure the parking brake is fully on.

The client has replaced the gearbox. My job is just to program the new gearbox. With Forscan need the file As-Built to do that

I recon you need to initialise ( pair up) the tcm in immobiliser programming .
