Whistling Noise when

Featured Replies

I have a Ford focus TDCI 2011. When I accelerate and get to around 2000 rpm, there's a whooshing noise that seems to be coming through the vents. Now I have taken it to the garage twice, first time they told me it was an injector seal that needed replacing, £120 later, still the same issue. Took it back, they told me it needed a service, another £190. Then told me it could be the dpf that was blocked, and to run it down the motorway at 3000rpm for 30 minutes, which I have done, and still the whooshing noise is exactly the same. Everything I have looked at online,  youtube etc, points towards a leak in a pipe somewhere. I originally mentioned this to the garage and they have assured me they have checked all my pipes and none of them are leaking. I'm kind of at a stand still with not knowing what to do next. Anyone else had the same problem, or know what the issue could be??? Don't want to chuck anymore money to the garage. Thanks

You definitely need a new garage...  There's no way a 'service' was going to stop a whooshing noise.

Unfortunately there are several engines it could be for a 2011 diesel.  We need to know what size it is and whether it's Mk2 or Mk3 to go any further.

Normally a whooshing noise is boost air escaping from one of the pipes. You need another garage who knows what there doing to recheck.
