Ongoing issue

Featured Replies

following on from previous post. I have had the high pressure fuel pump replaced with a genuine second hand part, with filter change, injectors swapped with four genuine second hand, checked/coded and fuel system flushed...

Within the week the same rough driving problem came back, lumpy and spluttery driving, stalling, misfiring and bad start ups with the dash saying 'engine preheating'...

Took it back to garage who found injector one was leaking, so reseated it. Same thing happening again within the week. So went back last week, got him to change four glow plugs and he again reseated and sealed the injectors and recoded. The only error code showing was for maf sensor, nothing for injectors.

Any suggestions before start digging deeper? I drove it to work yesterday and today, took me four attempts to fire up first time yesterday but fine today. Only issue was stalling on me at approach to cross roads 2 mins into journey.

It doesnt seem like the car it once was, just feels a lot rougher and juddery to drive, with the obvious issues it is suffering from.

I don't think throwing used parts at it is the right idea.

Whether it's genuine or not, they're still just as used as the parts you're taking off, so the fault remains.

You're not going to resolve this issue unless you either pay Ford to diagnose correctly or replace every component with new ones until the fault goes away.

Or, what I would do, get rid and cut your losses
