Sync update 3.0.23219 - 2018 Fiesta

Featured Replies

Its that time of year again, and the official Ford update site is offering the latest Sync 3.0 update file for my 2018 Fiesta, (and it seems also a Map update once the Sync system has been update).

Just wondering if anyone has installed this yet?

Many thanks

3 weeks ago  had the same information from the  official ford . I installed the 3.0.23219 version and when I uploaded the log file it showed the message and without having the option to download maps. now I have the 3.0.23219 version with previous  F11 version maps.

Just updated our Sync (took about 15 minutes) and uploaded log file, but waiting for Fords servers to update.

are you have the sane issue ??????

I uploaded the log file to Ford servers, but it didnt seem to work.  So I have just connected the car to Wifi and done a manual 'check for system updates', and now checked on Ford Sync Website and it says all up to date, with no map updates available 😞

Hi. Trying to update to do a software update for the first time on 2020 Fiesta. Not sure if I’m doing it right. Connected to house WiFi. I get the below onscreen but nothing seems to be happening. Perhaps I’m being impatient. Any info/ insight as to whether I’m doing this correctly, and how long the download typically takes? Thank you

Looks like it is downloading something, and it does take quite a while!

I usually use the main Ford website and update the system via a download onto a USB stick.

Great - thanks. Should I use the same USB port as I would use to connect my phone for Apple CarPlay? Thanks again

Yes

I'm confused 🤔

If you are downloading directly to the car via your home WiFi (expect it take a good few hours) what are you planning to put in the USB port ?

I think he means in the event that he decided to use the USB stick route instead of downloading via wi-fi?

Hi. Yeah you’re totally right - it seemed to be taking a while over WiFi, so was just checking to see how to do it via USB. Apologies for the confusion. Good news it downloaded/ updated over WiFi.

Only just found what they updated in this version of Sync 3.0 - two options in the phone settings - you can now have your phone ringtone as the ringtone in the car (instead of the three generic tones), and also with the text message arrived sound there is an option to read it out.

I had same issue before when upgrading to 3.0.23219. After loading the xml file to the Ford website it wouldnt update, however after trying to updated it every few days over a month it finally updated. My maps are still at F11 however.

I updated three weeks ago. Car is working fine and I have the log file, but still not showing as updated on the servers. The Ford system is the worst out of all of the cars I've updated (of the pnes you can physically do yourself)

try again in about another week

Evening All,

Just noticed that there is now a new Map update for my 2018 Fiesta with Sync 3.0.23219

Has anyone installed this yet, and what version Maps is it updating too?

Thanks

Latest maps are F13

I downloaded and installed a couple of weeks ago

Is it true you don't get or need sn xml log file anymore with the map update?

I know you do with Sync 3

Hi All,

Not sure what this one is about, but just noticed there is a new map download approx. 24Gb, for a 2018 plate Fiesta (Sync 3.0.23219).

Just tried the update and all I got was a 48kB licence update.

Same here for Fiesta & Puma.

Vaguely on topic - has anyone ever had the system update via Wi-Fi, apart from @steeevo00 earlier in the thread?

When I check for updates on the Ford site, it confirms there is one available and suggests I can do it via USB or wi-fi. If I go to the car, ensure I'm connected to wi-fi, and run "check for updates" a little circle whirls around for a while, then it says "Sync is up to date" (though clearly its not)  and gives the current date.

I'm not bothered about this stuff anyway, but just curious. Both this Mk 8.5  (Sync 3.4) and my previous Fiesta Mk 8 (Sync 3.0) claimed in the blurb they would update via wi-fi, but plainly don't.

Yes both my Ranger and Focus have automatically updated Sync via Wifi, but so far never the actual maps.

Just tried it again. Same routine and concluded with it saying it's up to date as of today's date.

The only hint of anything happening with either car was with my previous Mk 8 while parked outside the Doctors (of all places). I got a message saying it was downloading an update (can't remember the number but it had the file extension .tar.gz (which I think is related to maps?)) but no update ever took place.

Lots of vehicles now seem to rely on over the air updates for a variety of systems, so hope they work better than Ford's effort.
