Any experiences of the petrol option in the 2015> Galaxy?

Featured Replies

Afternoon All,

Just wondering if anyone has any real world experience of the petrol 2015> Galaxy? Rare as they are! I'm considering whether I look out for a petrol one to avoid some of the known issues with diesel options now that my miles have fallen due to a second car in the mix and to avoid replacing any more TDCi thermostat housings etc....

I can find very few user comments re the Galaxy, most petrol comments pertain to the S-Max which often suggest a decent engine but very thirsty with average mpg figures starting with a '1' or a '2' in best cases. I'm not sure if the 2.0 Ecoboost setup in the Galaxy and the S-Max is exactly the same or if the S-Max is a sportier/more power-focussed implementation which might account for the poor fuel economy. Any real world experience in the Galaxy re economy and general reliability of the petrol engine option (with traditional TC auto rather than Powershift as far as I can tell?) would be most appreciated so I can assess whether waiting for a petrol option would be a prudent risk limiting exercise vs my current P/shift TDCi or frying pan>fire territory.....

All the best,

Sandy
