Hello everyone, I've just joined this community to seek advice please 😄 I'm planning to purchase a Galaxy diesel 2020 onwards, auto gearbox and low mileage. I'm looking at a few offers and was wondering what I should be aware of, as flaws, issues, etc, when I'm going to see these cars. Apart from the Powershift well known disasters, anything else I should stay away from? Is the engine reliable? Electronics and infotainment? On the othe hand, anything I should look for, as equipment and features? Many thanks for any input

Hi,

The engine is the 2.0 EcoBlue.  They use wetbelts which can be unreliable (as you may have seen from the 1.0 EcoBoost issues).

There are only two trim levels to choose from at this age, Zetec or Titanium.  Definitely worth going for the Titanium if you prefer a higher spec.  I'm afraid I don't know what was optional at this time so if there is any spec you're particularly after, reverse camera for example, definitely check that on any car before committing to purchase.

I can't recall seeing any common Galaxy specific faults on here so far.

Powershift was pretty sorted by that age too, just make sure you change the fluid every 36,000 miles

And change the engine oil minimum every 12 months using the correct oil and never use flush
