Just got my renewal notice in from Swinton for home insurance. Last year was £254.12. They want a renewal of £923.34!! An increase of 363%

Under everything that is holy, what on earth do they think on issuing a renewal premium that has risen so much?? Inflation is now 2%. Is it any wonder that insurance companies are now despised even more than those in the banking profession.

    Interested to see it's underwritten by Ageas.  I've just had to renew mine as well.  I noticed multiple companies were underwritten by Ageas on comparison sites.  Yet when I tried Ageas directly, they were 3 times the cost for the same cover. :unsure: 

    Needless to say I went with one of the cheaper ones.  I do find I have to change it every year or two to get the best price.

    Who doesn't love a happy ending! After a bit of shopping around, bought policy from Direct Line, who charged me £6 less than I paid last year... 😂
