Focus Titanium Diesel 2014 footwell/ambient lighting

Featured Replies

Hi,

I hope that someone could help me please.

I had to have the battery changed around 6 weeks ago and since then the footwell/ambient lighting in my Focus Titanium 2014 plate has stopped working.

Can anyone give me some guidance on how to resolve this issue please.

I don't want to have to go to a dealership unless I really have to.

Thanks.

Have you checked the fuse?

Fuses checked and all appear OK.

When the battery was changed, if the new battery was reconnected before all the modules had shut down, it can cause minor electrical problems.

After checking the fuse, if that is ok, try disconnecting one of the battery leads and leaving it disconnected for at least an hour to give all the modules time to fully shut down.

To add:

Do it as a hard reset

Turn on ignition but do not start engine

open driver's window

disconnect battery negative for 10 minutes

The battery change was carried out by the RAC, I asked that he connected a power pack before disconnecting the battery so that I didn't have to find the PIN number for the radio etc. Would that have caused any issues?

There's no pin on MK3

Power surge could've blown them or the fuse

Thank you for your help everyone.

Have for checked the dash menus as it is hopefully just switch itself off when the new battery was connected.

Is this for a Focus or the Galaxy on your profile?  The fuseboxes are different for different models.

Hi it's for a cmax mk2 2014

Interior light should be F60 under the glovebox on that model.  Though that also appears to cover the glovebox light and drivers door switch pack (windows etc) so I doubt that one's blown if you haven't noticed issues with the other items.

Ambient lighting does not always have a fuse in newer Fords.  It is just protected by the BCM (Body Control Module) as the lights take such a small amount of power individually.

For future reference, the fuses are listed in the owners manual.  If you didn't get a manual with the car, they are available online via this link - ford.co.uk/support/vehicle/c-max-2010/2014/owner-manuals
