Exhaust tail pipes

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Forgive me if i don't use the correct terminology i'm still earning.

I have a ford focus st line x 1.0 litre eco boost 69plate,i just wanted to ask how do i go about making my car sound louder or have a bit more a rumble in higher gears? I have heard you can replace the box and replace with a straight pipe but that will fail your m.o.t,so all i want to know really is can i fit a different exhaust tip and will it sound better,if this is the case what should i be looking for and where?

Thanks for all your help and time

Kind regards Tristan

Changing the tips will do nothing for the sound.

The exhaust sound is mainly determined by the resonator and/or rear box (depending on what’s fitted).

Most people want it quiet in higher gears or gets really droney on the motorway.

And it's also rather inconsiderate to people living on roads you drive down.

You should hear the noise my car makes . A noisey exhaust would be welcome noise  compared to my starship Galactica sound. 🤣🤣🤣

Got enough of the drone inside from the passenger seat without having one of those noisy engine / exhaust things. 🤣
