2015 focus 1.5 tdci 120 bhp MAF replace

Featured Replies

Hi again. I have just replaced Maf sensor because of hunting and 'Service Engine Now' Message code P1103.

At the moment not a great change and just wondering if the ECU requires some run time to relearn the new sensor?

Thanks all

Barrie

Usually MAF's are just plug & play.

You can try unplugging it now and running the engine briefly.  (Should trigger a fault code/light).  Then switch off, plug back in, and that can force a relearn on some models.

I have had poor experiences with very cheap unbranded MAF's, and would always stick to well known brands or genuine parts myself.  So if it just a Tesco Value version, that may be part of the problem.

Hi. Never thought of doing that, will go out and follow your advice and then we have a quick trip so should sort it. Thanks for your reply Barrie
