Minor issues with '15 plate TitaniumX Tdci

Featured Replies

So I serviced my mate's missus' motor this morning and noticed that the oil-filled engine mounting adjacent to the coolant tank is leaking quite badly and she also mentioned that sometimes the nearside mirror doesn't fold out when un-locking and when it does it doesn't return to it's normal position and also sometimes the n/s/f door doesn't unlock with the remote.

I have ordered a new engine mount from the motor factors where I work and it is coming in tomorrow but having never changed one of these before is it much of a job to do as it doesn't look too bad ??

I am guessing that the other issues could be related to the BCM ??

Engine mounts are easy.  It's just a pain having to get underneath and remove the under tray before you can support the engine on a trolley jack.

Door and mirror issues on the same door sound more like a plug or loom fault on just that door than the BCM.

Cheers Tom/Unofix....is the leaking engine mount an MOT fail or just an advisory ??

Can only fail an engine mount if it's causing excessive engine movement which is very rare in my experience.  (Used to happen on older cars when the chassis rotted out below the mount bolt, but I haven't seen it happen on modern cars).

Advisories are entirely down to the testers discretion.  They can put whatever they want.

You can mop up the leaked oil so it doesn't look as bad.
