Ford Focus 1.0 ST Line X 69 Plate fuel tank capacity?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My focus seems to have a small fuel tank,im sure when i filled up at the bp it said 350 mile,is that normal? as my old focus did 545 mile on a tank of fuel.

Or do i have problem with the fuel sensor?

Thanks for all your help

Regards Tristan

No it was petrol same as this one

You need to work it out yourself really, those figures the car calculates can be pretty inaccurate.

You must have been only doing nice long runs to get over 500 miles a tank from a petrol. Even then a struggle with a 1.0 in a Focus. Anything older than that would not be doing that sort of MPG.

52 litres, afaik. Mk 3 was 55.

As Alex says, you need to check your actual mpg, not what the computer says. Do this by using the "brim to brim" method, ie brim the tank, zero the tripmeter, drive several hundred miles, brim the tank again. Divide the miles travelled by the number of litres needed to brim the tank, multiply by 4.54609 to convert to mpg.

Bear in mind the Focus Mk 4 has put on size and weight compared to earlier models. You haven't actually said which petrol engine you have - might be an idea to update your profile?
