Ford Uk Website Problem?

Featured Replies

2019 fiesta active 1.

Downloaded a sync3 update yesterday morning, extracted it to usb drive successfully, installed the update on the car successfully and completed. logged back into Ford UK to upload the log file from usb drive.

Each time I go  to support Sync & Update page where you enter your vin No the page comes up with error message "We Encountered A Error. Pleas Try Again Later". Tried refreshing the page also using another browser, result is still the same.

This is the second day like this, is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

It's not my first time doing this procedure so I am familiar with the process, there is a map update still to get yet.

Thanks

Its not just you. Updated our 2018 Mondeo on wednesday. Update to the car itself went fine, but had a few issues with the log file being generated. Finally managed to get it generated with the Ford tool. Tried uploading several times and didn't get a confirmation that it had worked. I've tried a few different browsers, and now only get the "we encountered an error" as well and so I can't update the maps which is frustrating (or not using the official way at least)

There is an error with the Ford site when trying to upload the log file.

You need to make sure that you are not logged in to the Ford Sync site. You may need to clear your browser as some will auto log you back in.

Then visit the site and enter only your VIN, you will then be able to upload the log file.

I'm definitely not logged in. I've tried on different browsers and deleted history/cookies, and on different devices. Nothing seems to work

Ive just come off a live chat on Ford UK website, for once it was a human I spoke to. She has acknowledged there is a issue with the site and has escalated it to the tech dep't, hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Appears to have been fixed as of the last 24 hours. Now showing Sync up to date, just the maps that need doing.

I can also confirm that the website seems to be working ok now.

I updated my Maps to F12 a few weeks ago and despite uploading the Log File several times the website was still showing that my Maps were not up to date despite the car showing the update being successful.

I have just uploaded the file again and it is now showing a successful.

I'm curious, anyone know what would happen if you had a 2019 car, and never 'updated' software once, would it still work in 2024?

It would still work the same way as it did in 2019.

Without inside knowledge I would say that the updates to the Software were mostly cosmetic except one that enhanced the built in camera clarity in low light conditions from memory. The more tech savvy people may know differently.

I only updated to the latest Software and Maps level recently, probably about a year after the they were changed. I only did it because I was going to be going on some long drives, not because there was anything wrong and also there may be more fixed speed camera locations highlighted on the later maps.

The end result looks and acts exactly the same to me.

the email I got from ford after informing them of the faulty page they asked for details of my car where I bought it from etc etc, I've had it from new.

The page now shows sync is up to date although I never uploaded the log file.

I'm wondering if the techs did something with the details I gave to show sync up to date.

They may have done, it was the Maps with me and when I checked today it still said my Maps where not up to date despite uploading the Log file several times. As soon as I uploaded it again today it said I was up to date.

Either that or if you had Wi-Fi enabled it may have done it through that route. I can't pick up Wi-Fi where my car is parked.

After several attempts I succeeded in updating my Sync 3 software. However, when uploading the log file I got a message indicating a problem, but wouldn’t indicate if it was the file itself or the website. Now every time I  go back into the update site I get a message indicating that Ford recognise the problem and that the “team” will review and correct the problem. However, the presence of this message, on the opening page, prevents me from attempting to download the upgrade again, and retrying. I am also unable to access the map downloads. I sent an email to Ford Support only to be told to contact my service centre. I’m reluctant to do so as they supposedly updated the software at a recent service, but when I checked it was still on the 22000 level.

You just go to the Site and go through the steps to upload the new Update again then at some point it will ask you if you want to upload the generated Log File.

That's because Ford's site is very poorly designed.

Just go through the whole process again as if you were wanting to download the update. At the very last stage just before you click to download the new update, there is a link which says something like "confirm update was successful" You then click on that line and it will ask you to upload the log file.

Should have also warned you to make sure that you are logged out, when you go to the check for updates, and just enter your cars VIN.

There is another fault on the site. If you are logged in, and try and up load the log file then you just get a never ending "waiting" and the file is not up loaded.

the site not  give me the option..

You need to completely log out from the site.

Do not log back in.

Enter only the vehicles VIN, (nothing else), and then click "Check For Update"

I can’t. When I go to the site, insert VIN number I get the message “there seems to be problem with your log file etc” and it won’t let me go any further.

You may have had a different problem to the one that I and some others had.

My car had Sync3.3 from new and is now on 3.4, I think some of the people who are still having problems are on different versions.

  • 5 months later...

I have been having this problem for the last couple of weeks

The web site just says "We encountered an error.  Please try again later"

I don't have a Ford account so I cannot be logged in.

Is this issue live again?
