Hello I’m looking at a focus st line 73 plate but it has a xhorse key ? Does the keyless entry work with these ?

To be honest just thought it was a new style key - me being naive and blinded by a beautiful car - it does say keyless to be fair

Ah!

I understand now. It's a clone of the other key, so not a genuine key. For the most part it will work the same as the original key, but as far as the car is concerned it will see both keys as being the same one.

Personally I'm not a believer in cloned keys, but they are OK in an emergency.

The question I would be wondering is who still has the original key ?

The fella said at the dear ship he will 100% sort out a second key when I pick up - it’s only when I’ve gone away and thought about it I got concerned I’m trading in a mint 69 plate full Ford history

For security reasons, I'd want 2 genuine Ford keys. That way you can be sure that any other 'missing' keys will have been erased from the vehicles memory and won't work even if they turn up in future.

Unofix really appreciate your advice and help - thankyou - one more thing on the Ford app I can un lock and lock my car - when my buddy sold his titanium x he purposely left the car on his app - he could locate it - this is a worry as well

Yes, I had similar with one of my old cars. I just forgot to delete it. There must be away for a new owner to remove an other from the app, but I'm not sure how.

Perhaps this will help:

I’m quite ocd with cars I you can see who has access to the via the settings - I’m just hopping this key works out ok - as the salesman unlocked wish I’d had the key in hand and used the door keyless sensor on handle first before I threw 500 over

Someone deleted me from the app before my car was handed over to the new owner.  So it can definitely be done from the car.

Those key fobs are ok but make sure it works in the emergency position.  I got one with a used car that wasn't fitted with a proximity chip.  It worked fine keylessly, but not when the fob battery had gone flat.  You can test that by removing the battery and attempting to start the engine with it in the emergency position.
