S-max transmission limited problem

My 2010 Ford S-Max Automatic has an amber indicator message confirming the message to be ‘Transmission Limited Function’.

When this light appears the gearbox loses the 1,3,5 and reverse gears while driving 

When switching the car off and on again the car forget about the message I now have all gears for any time from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

I took it to a car garage and they advised me to change the gearbox oil and still the same issue.

Anyone who is willing to share their experiences and resolutions would be very much appreciated.

    At 2010 that'll be the AISIN I reckon.

    Doesn't sound good.

    Get yourself set up on FORScan and when the vehicle goes into fault mode read the codes.

    Could just be a sticking/failing solenoid
