Scraping sound when driving - 2016 Ford Focus Hatchback SE

Featured Replies

Hey,

I recently bought a used automatic 2016 Focus Hatchback SE. About a month into purchasing the vehicle, I started to notice a scraping sound when I start the car. This sound is most notable when I push down on the accelerator when in drive. It also happens when I am driving and not pressing down on the accelerator. This sound is more prevalent at lower speeds and town driving, but it still happens time to time on the highway.

The car has 111k miles on it, currently in the shop. Mechanic identified a broken transmission mount, and will install it to see if it helps lessen the scraping sound before diagnosing further.

Does anyone have any recommendations in troubleshooting what may be going on? Thanks in advance!
