Part required, rear seat button surrounds...

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I recently bought a zetec s and the plastic surround that goes around the buttons to drop the back seats is missing.

Could someone help me in telling me what these parts are called and possibly even know where I could grab a couple from?

Thank you so much...

Is this what I require two of?

For a specific answer, can you post a photo of the buttons with the 'missing' bezel?

A breakers may let you take a few off. They can be pulled off by hand.

I bought two of these from a breakers as my Mk2 was missing one when I got it. I took two so I had a spare in case another got lost.

I have the spare here, it looks exactly the same as the type on the Ford site.

There are a lot of Mk2s being broken these days. The small place I use must have crushed a few dozen Mk2s since I bought them.

I see far fewer Mk3s being broken than Mk2s.

This ebay listing claims they were the same from 2005 to 2018 for both Mk2 and Mk3.

They also want £18 for one.

Found them for around £6 each

There's red inside the ones previously linked as well.  I was also intrigued by it.  I think it's rubber to prevent the button squeaking against the bezel with the vibrations of driving.

It also acts as a warning sign so you can quickly see if the backrest hasn't clicked into place and pushed the button right back up.  (Could be dangerous if you brake hard and the backrest folds up with a child sitting there).

I just had a look at the spare one I have. The red bit is hard plastic and not rubber.

It does show when the seat button is pressed down.

Thanks.  In that case it is 'only' used as a warning then.  The picture made it look soft...if that makes any sense.
