Hi all, I have P0380 permanent code for the glow plugs but other than the engine malfunction warning and occasional slow start when cold I have no other symptoms, no limp mode or running problems, also when I accelerate hard the engine malfunction warning clears but then comes back when I ease off, does this sound like glow plugs? I'm confused by the light going off when I accelerate hard

    What other symptoms are you expecting?  Glowplugs are only needed when very cold on common rail engines.

    I can't explain why the warning is disappearing under hard acceleration though, can't remember seeing that before.

    Limp mode does occur on the 1.6 TDCI with this code.  Not necessarily other Ford engines as they use different PCM's.

    Rough running is only likely in very cold weather for the first couple of minutes though.  The cylinders heat themselves in that time.
