Focus mk2 fuel additive engine warning message

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently purchased a 2007 focus cc. I have an engine warning message which after reading the codes in Forscan comes up with 2 codes for the fuel additive being low.

I have topped up the tank under the car, but it only took around 3/4 of the litre bottle. After this I ran the resetting and priming procedure in Forscan, clearing the codes afterward.

The codes clear but after running the car for a few seconds they come back.

I've tried this process multiple times including a DPF static regeneration.

After some research, I have found that some people bridge pin 11 and pin 7 to trick the module into thinking the tank is full and removing the engine warning message.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Does the system definitely continue to work, adding the additive when it is supposed to?

@stephenblewFor mine it was next to the rear axle. There is a black container with 2 connections coming off it that have caps on them. The top one is the refill and the bottom is an overflow.
