Is a Ford focus 2.0 diesel titanium navigation 2014 registration a timing belt or timing chain 

many thanks

    It has a traditional external timing belt. Should be replaced at 10 years of age. Will cost £350 to £400

    It does also use a small chain between the two camshafts which may be where the confusion comes from.  Ford do not specify a replacement interval for that chain and it is generally reliable on the 2.0 engine.  Some people suggest checking it while the belt is removed but that does add more labour costs of course.
