Can anyone help? Mondeo 2004 2.0L Duratec engine. The engine management and battery light started to flash simultaneously and the engine lost power. Starter does not even swing now. No previous warnings or problems.

Starter, alternator works (tested). Battery full. Light stays on constantly. Can't start vehicle now. If you leave the ignition on for a while, the odometer reading changes to -------.

Petrol engine.

Took vehicle to the Dealership. They reckon the alternator is faulty and the EEC is blown since they don't get any communication from the EEC.

Can this be possible?

Where can I source another EEC? Plese help!

are the battery, starter motor and alternator ok ? does the red light in the dash flash or stay a solid light ? if the eml was flashing there would be a fault code in the ecu,get these read to point towards the problem.

The problem might be due to poor connection of fuel pressure sensor.Replace the tin connector with a gold electrical connector.
