Passenger wing mirror indicator

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have spent continuous hours looking at what this connector is, and if I can get a new one to connect to the existing wiring, so I don’t have to purchase a brand new wing mirror.

I just need to know if it’s possible to buy it and where from, the rest of the work will be easy.

I have tested the indicator in the other side and it works perfectly fine, but as soon as you put it back, it stops working and have to old the connector a certain way to work.

Any advice welcome!

Assuming that is the female connector try seeing if you can close the internal metal pins slightly so you get better contact with the mating male connector.

Maybe also check the mating male pins in case one has gotten badly bent or its backing out slightly as you make the connection.

As an alternative to closing up the female pins you could try putting a very slight link in the male pins so they contact the mating pins better.

Or if the 2 connectors aren’t locking together very well to make good contact some small strips of PVC tape on female connector to help it stay in place?

Thank you for the advice. I have tried the indicator on the other wing mirror to eliminate it being a faulty indicator.

So all I can assume now is that the connector isn’t making good contact on the passenger side where the issue started.

I have looked at both connectors and they’re both the same and don’t look damaged. All I can see if the wiring into the connector looks damaged just before the connector.

So possibly if it’s possible to get another connector to cut the current one off and replace, rather than replacing the full wiring loom or wing mirror.
