Focus st line x washer jets not working

Featured Replies

Hi. My focus st line x (18 plate) washer jets are not working properly. The motor works and it’s full of screen wash. When used, a tiny amount comes out of washer jet, almost reaches windscreen, and then nothing although the motor is still working. Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.

Open the bonnet and pull off the small hose that goes into the washer jet nozzle. Then press the washer button and determine if the water flows at a good rate. If it does, the nozzle has a blockage, a piece of grit or such like which you'll need to clean out.

I'm assuming you have the 'Mist' washer jets. They very easily become blocked. As Stephen has said you will need to fully remove the jet after disconnecting the pipe and clean the tiny jet using an old toothbrush (or your partners 🤣)

Hi. Pulled off the small hose that goes to the washer jet nozzle, nothing really comes out, so presumably it must be a blockage leaving the screen wash container.

Well at least you're further on the diagnosis. Before dismantling the washer bottle/pump etc you can try this. Get your garden hose, and aim it into the bottle and see if it'll dislodge any of the sludge that may have gathered up on the bottom jamming up the pump. Prepared to get a little moist on this process! You may get lucky...
