Mk3 Focus clearing ABS light

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need help with a 2014 64 plate Focus 1.0l Ecoboost

Once the faulty ABS sensor has been changed, should the dashboard ABS light go out by itself or do need to have it cleared by a dealer?

I have changed the rear nearside ABS sensor but the light has stayed on. I will test the new sensor and am expecting something like 900 - 1800 ohms resistance, would this be in spec?  I will also check to see if there is 12v at the plug but the old sensor does seem faulty when I do an ohms test.

The abs light and stability lights are on and sometimes so is the handbrake light. The handbrake light has only been coming on since the ABS light has come on.

thank you in advance

The sensor was changed with one purchased from Ford. The ABS light did not go out by itself. Ford did say it may need to be turned off/ reset. This was done and things seemed ok on the drive but out on a run the following day the light has come back on.

I am open to suggestions on what to try.  Ford want over £100 just to plug it into a tester, that must work out at well over £600 an hour.
