dpf sensor problems, again!!

Featured Replies

seems to be a common problem for me but here we go again,

engine light came on again, code scanned and came up with P24C6 related to particulate matter sensor.

took it to the garage and was told it was the same sensor that i got replaced about a year and a half ago, ford not willing to do anything about it as it was over a year ago and blamed it on using crappy diesel,

guy running the garage told me my options were either replacing it again or getting it ‘switched off`. says it’s totally untraceable and won’t cause any problems when it comes to mot or anything else.

has anyone heard of this or done this to by pass the system? when i try to google it it doesn’t really tell me much other than removing the dpf completely which i don’t think is what he’s meaning as he says the guy will come to the house and will have it done in less than an hour

I have had the same code on a 2 litre diesel Ford focus 76000 miles I drive it on motorways 5 days a week, I don’t want to just pay Ford £250 for a new sensor
