Hi. I have a Ford Focus 1.6 2013 mk 3 zetec. On the audio dash NOT the speed dash. The letter P has appeared on the audio dash. Any idea what it means please

or the display is failing and its part of a word

 

Looks like the B of DAB.

But seems too much of a coincidence for only that small part of the display to fail.

Might be something to do with your phone.  I know roaming shows an R, but I think that's a much smaller R in a box.

Only other R I can find from a quick skim of the handbook is Regional Setting.  Might be worth checking if that's on or off, though it feels like a long shot.

 

Regional Mode

Regional mode controls the behavior of alternative frequencies switching between regionally related networks of a parent broadcaster. A broadcaster may run a fairly large network across a large part of the country. At various times of the day this large network may be broken down into a number of smaller regional networks, typically centered on major towns or cities. When the network is not split into regional variants, the whole network carries the same programming.

Regional mode ON: This prevents random alternative frequency switches when neighboring regional networks are not carrying the same programming.

Regional mode OFF: This allows a larger coverage area if neighboring regional networks are carrying the same programming, but can cause random alternative frequency switches if they are not.

1. Press the MENU button.

1. Select AUDIO or AUDIO SETTINGS.

1. Scroll to RDS REGIONAL and turn on or off with the OK button.

1. Press the MENU button to return.

Now I think on it. I'm on roaming in the South of Ireland. Usually live in the north. So yes you may be right. Thanks I'm going home to moro. So let's see if it goes of. Will keep yiu informed for future ref. Thanks
