Adding auto headlights and wipers

Featured Replies

I installed new headlight switch with auto mode, installed new rain/light sensor on top of the windshield and plugged it in already installed harness. Activated auto headlights in two places in BCM, but I'm unable to activate rain sensor, I get an error, it says wrong configuration. Nothing works still, headlights come on no matter light or dark. What am I missing?

which car !!! and why not find a thread related to your model and read / update your query on the end of that

if you're calling it a BCM, likely a Mk3 ? what wiper stalk do they use ? on a mk 2 its the same thing, but I doubt they maintained that sensible path.....

I apologize if I didn't place my topic properly. It's a Focus mk3 2013. To be honest I'm more bothered by the fact auto headlights don't work atm, auto wipers would just be a bonus for me. I don't know if inability to enable rain sensor has anything to do with lights since by my understanding I enabled everything I need to get auto headlights to work. Do you think wiper stalk has anything to do with it. What I've read so far upon installing and enabling sensor, auto wipers activate instead of "intermittent" mode on the stalk.

Yes that's true.

Check the settings for your lights using FORScan, and make sure that Scandinavian mode is not selected.

wipers and auto lights are linked... the rain sensor is really a Rain Light Sensor - this very sensor on most cars is what tells the car its getting dark and to turn on the lights

in the cluster on my sister's mk3 was a setting to enable auto lights to come on whenever rain sensors sees rain....

on my non ford car it turns the lights on if the wipers have gone fast wipe for 7 consecutive sweeps

would an non auto lights and wiper car's instrument cluster need flashing to know whats going on ? on her indoor's mk2 the cluster doesn't have lights toggle bit a mk3 gets
