TPMS Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My car is approaching 10yrs old (Focus MK3 Titanium Navigator 64 plate) and for the first time yesterday, I got a message on the dash saying the TPMS sensors were not detected. It disappeared about 10 minutes later but then came back again on the next journey and again disappeared a short while later.

I assume that the batteries in the sensors are starting to go so the plan would be to replace all 4 sensors.

My questions are, is there any advantage to buying original Ford sensors rather than the OEM replacements available just about everywhere (or any recommendations for replacement sensors)? How much should I expect to pay for original Ford sensors and what would be a reasonable cost for a tyre fitter to replace them. I already have a TPMS re-learn tool that works on Fords.

Many thanks in advance.

I believe that Ford ones are about £22/each, though 'Ebay' ones you can get all 4 for a similar price. I would expect no difference between them...
