Focus Mk3 1.0 Ecoboost : handbrake, abs and traction light

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I bought a Ford Focus Mk3 1.0 Ecoboost in July 2023.

In december 2023 my battery died, so I got a new one (Varta D54) but after the replacement I got multiple problems:

-Handbrake, abs and traction control light always on
-Auto Start/Stop not working

I kept Driving the car as it was working normally, but two months ago the new already battery died.

I decided to buy an AGM (Bosch S5A08) and the lights are still on and the auto Start/Stop is still not working.

What I've tried:

-Reset BMS
-Read the code in Forscan with a vLinker FS, I have the Following DTC:
 B1252:11-28
 B1096:14-2F
 B1095:14-2F
 B105A:00-28
 C1D00:23
-Checked the ABS Wheel sensor in Forscan, everything seems to work
-Tried an ABS test in Forscan but I got an error (Test failed)

Does anyone know a bit more about these codes and what I should proceed with next?
Thanks in advance.

Using a multimeter, what is the battery terminal voltage 1 hour after parking ?

  • Author

I checked this morning and got 12.42v on the multimeter.

The car also had some trouble starting when I pressed the clutch and the button. First time, nothing happened, but it worked on the second try.

12.3v today

What voltage do you get at the battery terminals when the engine is running at a fast idel?

  • Author

14.5v for a few seconds and it drops to around 12v at idle, it goes up when i press the accelerator
