Insufficient air flow P1102:24 E4

Hi all

Wonder if anyone can help I have recently done a timing belt, rocker cover and auto box fluid change on my 150ps 2018 smax diesel

I am having the above fault code when backing off of acceleration at 3500rpm or high speeds when turning the car off and on again it clears itself I am also getting through normal/lower speeds slight hesitation and surging

The timing has been checked again with no issues there and all air pipes have been checked for leaks it's now had two mass airflow sensors but I'm wary of the second as the boxes have both been a bit tattered (surely it can't be two faulty sensors) and also a turbo.

Please help me I'm running out of ideas

Thanks

Hi, I had this on my 1.5 diesel ecosport, you need to whip off the EGR including the heat exchanger. When you part it you’ll find it is blocked with carbon. It’ll take a couple of days to clean with a good degreaser but should cure your issue once done. Hope this sorts your issue. Let us know 👍🏻
