Hi all, new owner :)

Hi all, just bought a s-max 2.2 200bhp titanium x.

We are about to sell our Range Rover due to ill health and cut our cloth hence the s-max, but in honesty I have always quite liked them. We bought blind from 10 hours away ( mad, I realise ) but life is a gamble.

I wondered if anyone knew the car? Be interesting to know if anythings been done, or issues happened and others know about them.

Also curious over modifications and such, I can map it myself, but unsure how the autos, injectors and turbos take to maps. Is the DPF in the center section underneath?

Hi and welcome.

Yes, the DPF is in the centre section and can become "full", but usually caused by something else like the vapouriser or pressure sensor failing leading to failed regens. Would suggest getting the exahust mounts checked and protect them from rust as the only place to get a new one is from Ford at over £1000, alternatively get one custom made. Two hangers failed on my Mondeo 2.2 but fixed with a repair hanger on the center section and and exhaust clamp on the big mount by the flexi pipe at the front.

Don't know about mapping it yourself but can easily be mapped by tuning companies.

Hmmm, in the mot minors/monitor section it said Central exhaust bracket defective.... Guess I will have to have a look once it arrives. Do you mean the actual exhaust, or the body mounts? TBH I was hoping it was just an exhaust side one and I would just stick on a cat-back.

Cheers for the DPF info, by mapping myself I mean I have the tools to do so. I would use a known map from a friend at a tuning company since I have been out the game a long time now, but still have contacts, was just curious if there were known faults after mapping other than dpf's blocking.

@dezwez Hey, where's your usual 'welcome'?? 😁

Normally the hangers on the exhaust itself rust and detatch.
