EML ? DPF issue

Wifes newly aquired 2015 2.0 diesel. Had EML light on today, got below DTCs. Only just acquired car and appears its odn every little mileage in last year. DTC screen shots attached....... ideas
 
Do I force a regen through FORSCAN ?

I would check to see if there is a PID for DPF Differential pressure.

I get the feeling that either the DPF Pressure Sensor or its wiring is faulty or maybe a previous owner has removed the DPF  and maybe tried to cover it up.

I very much doubt that FORScan could do a Forced Regeneration with the faults that you have.

Hi thanks for reply. How do i check for the PID ?    Am I reading the other screen correct that it's not regened for a while ?  Not sure if fact that it had been driven less than 500 miles last year maybe affecting this ??

The other PID's in your Screenshot suggest that there is something wrong rather than not needing a Regeneration. I have never seen a Soot Load at 0 and there seems to be no Voltage reading for the Sensor.

hmmm, Ill check the PID as suggested. Any easy way to see IF theres a DPF still ? ? ?

I'm not sure if you can easily see the DPF on that car but usually if the Core is removed it will be cut open and the outside welded up.

It could be that the Sensor or its wiring if faulty.

would it pass an MOT if the DPF hadbeen removed

Not if it was visible.

There is a lot of conflicting information and I don't know what to make of it.

Test the pressure differential sensor values (and pipes) at idle (4 kPa ish maybe )  and 3000 rev/min (40 kPa ish maybe) ?

I don't like the 97.1 distances being identical (and low)

Thanks for all advice, it's off to Fords next week for a diagnosis, hopefully nothing too serious

Just reading this post. Might be a stupid question, but have you ever seen smoke out the exhaust? The previous owner might have done a DPF delete and hardwired in a resistor or something else to fool the sensors or ECU on the actual exhaust DPF  differential pressure values! 

I have never seen soot values at 0 or 1% either, but have managed to hit 3% when my car decided to carry out an active re gen at ~60% soot as we started up the Alps fully loaded up with 5 ppl and luggage! 40-100kph, exhaust temps hit 665°C and the soot levels fell rapidly until they held at 3%, even though we continued climbing for another 20 mins at least! 

If the MOT tester finds your DPD is not there = missing, by law they must fail the test!  

Did Ford find out what was up? Hope it was just a sensor.

One of his tests is to wipe a finger on the inside of the exhaust and, as you say, if there's more than a trace of soot then either the DPF has failed or been removed.


I suspect however that it needs quite a bit of software deletion because there's a differential pressure sensor and two thermocouples, at least, that would need to be "fooled" 

Totally agree about deletions in general being illegal and immoral.
