Code P2279

Featured Replies

Hi new here have this code P2279 come up when I put revs to 3000 and service now comes on it restricted my speed but runs beautiful if you go through gears and keep revs down it says air intake leak but cannot hear anything under bonnet any ideas please what to do if I turn ignition off and on it disappears till I go up revs again to overtake.

There probably will be a loose or split air pipe between the MAF and MAP sensors.  If you can't find it, this is the sort of thing any small garage should be able to find.

Ok I will check I put fault live date on and it says my intake manifold absolute pressure is 31.2in/Hg on idle after start up.

That's fine.  It will only be under turbo boost conditions where a split pipe opens up though.  That's why you can drive it at low rpm without triggering the fault.

Cheers for that mine is about 31.0 at idle so that's fine then it's just service light pops on lately but I stop car and start engine again and it doest come on for days if I run at low revs it's a bugger not knowing what it is
