Transit custom mk8 hub bolts seized

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Looking for some advice, what is your recommendation for getting the t50 bolts out?  I have one seized in at one side and no heat or persuasion is making it move!    Other side I have 3 out of 5 that the torx has stripped and I need to start drilling the heads off.

The one in the photo I have drilled as far as I can about half an inch and bashed in hex keys trying to get it to move, nope

Yeh I'm thinking I'll just need to buy the whole steering hub part, what a carry on honestly, the whole design is bad

If anyone comes across this post with same issues - this may help you, i was successful getting the bolt(s) out, i drilled all the T50 heads off with high quality HSS drill bits, I applied quite a bit of heat with a propane torch to the steering knuckle/hub connection then worked the bolts loose carefully with a pipe wrench.
